Pro-Life Caravan Report Day 9 – Jan. 26, 2019 – Austin, Texas
The last day of the pro-life caravan brought the battle to Austin, Texas. Upwards of eight thousand pro-life Texans assembled from all over the Lone Star state. Guest speakers addressing the crowd from the Capitol steps included Land Commissioner George P. Bush and His Excellency, Most Rev. Patrick Zurek, Bishop of Amarillo.
Before the March even began, a huge crowd had formed around the pilgrim statue of Our Lady of Fatima. She was carried by four America Needs Fatima volunteers and had a TFP honor guard with bagpipes and drums. They played, and the crowd sang along and applauded. A crowd of over fifty people crowded around Our Lady for the Rosary during the March.
One man told TFP caravanner Zechariah Long, “those daily quotes from America Needs Fatima are an inspiration for me to get through each day.” Another lady asked where she could procure a large red TFP standard. “I would like to fly it over my ranch!”
A group was walking by, and a young woman said, “I love your videos and especially your traditional conservative standpoint.” Upon receiving the TFP statement Defending the Unborn Amidst a Crisis of Faith some people said they had already received it in Washington, D.C.
Overall, Texan pro-lifers were motivated and resolute to continue the fight to abolish abortion in this country. Under the gaze of Mary Most Holy, their hopes and efforts will not be in vain.
