Tradition, Family, Property -Texas hosted its Regional Conference in downtown Houston

On May 24, the feast of Pentecost and Our Lady Help of Christians, Tradition, Family, Property — Texas hosted its second Houston Regional Conference. The beautiful venue was the historic Milford House, owned by the Italian Cultural Community Center. The brick house is in Houston’s Museum District.

The conference took place despite the obstacles of Memorial Day weekend travel and a forecast of flooding. Nevertheless, seventy-five participants attended. Contrary to the initial forecast, it never rained!

A Double Crowning of Our Lady

Our Lady of Fatima processed in wearing a Carmelite habit made by nuns

Since May is the month of Mary, the event began solemnly with a May crowning. Our Lady of Fatima processed in wearing a Carmelite habit made by nuns of the same order. This same habit once clad the International Pilgrim Statue that wept miraculous tears in New Orleans in 1972. The Carmelite habit has a special connection with Fatima, as Our Lady appeared in it during the apparition on October 13, 1917.

Once in place, she was crowned with a magnificent wreath of flowers while everyone sang “Immaculate Mary.”

“I can’t believe how beautiful Our Lady is!” commented Noelia from Austin.

Everyone crowned Our Lady a second time by reciting the Holy Rosary, a crown of prayers.

Talks Addressing Pressing Issues

John Horvat II, author of the best-seller Return to Order, gave three talks. He spoke about the threat of AI in a talk titled “What Should a Catholic Think about AI?” A second talk answered the question, “What Should Catholics Pray for on the 250th Anniversary of the U.S.?” A final presentation was about “How Our Lady Saved the Color Blue.”

Mr. Thomas Drake, President of TFP-Texas and TFP-Louisiana, introduced each talk.
