TFP caravanners are still in the thick of the fight while defending the unborn on a two-week tour heading through four Southern states: Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. The plan is to hit twenty-five cities over that time period.
While abortion continues to annihilate America’s future generations, we are all called to defend these defenseless beings, so brutally shunned by the world.
Once Again Fighting in the City of the Alamo
On July 15th, another battle was waged at the Alamo. However, this battle is part of a war that is much deadlier than the one fought so many years ago. The Texans fought for the right to live independently from Mexico. At the Alamo, we fought for the right to life, which every human being, no matter how small, has.
While abortion continues to annihilate America’s future generations, we are all called to defend these defenseless beings.
In San Antonio, we were greeted with a good amount of support and also, of course, some opposition.
We met two young men who were very happy to see us and had previously seen TFP Student Action videos.
At one point during the campaign, a man came up and encouraged us and everyone else to stand for the truth and not be afraid.
As usual, several people came past screaming at us, showing their intolerance.
Overall, it was a very good campaign in the Alamo City.
Lots of Support for the Unborn in Fredericksburg
The honks of support were heard far and wide.
Fredericksburg, Texas is a smaller city, but it still is bustling. Thus, we encountered many, many people. Most reactions were very enthusiastic and supportive. Of course, we received the usual pathetic attempts to discourage us from the liberals, but they were to no avail.
At one point in the campaign, a mother drove past with her young child. The mother hated us and started screaming, “My body, my choice.” Her child, upon seeing his mother do this, covered her mouth with his hand. The mother was probably very embarrassed.
After this campaign, the caravan then headed to Austin, TEXAS to campaign at the University of Texas.
In the Belly of the Beast
Campaigning at the University of Texas, in the heart of Austin, was the most exciting of the whole caravan. There was a lot of foot traffic, thus allowing some good debates to take place. Keep in mind, the motto of the city of Austin is “Keep Austin Weird.”
Several students had some completely absurd arguments and comments.

For example, one man said, “Abortion is wrong, and if I were more pious then I would be against it, but I’m not because I’m too selfish.” This is sad coming from a university student.
Then of course, there were the students with no shame. One woman said to TFP member Joseph Dunlap, “I hate all kids and think they should be aborted!”
Another man in his car told Kevin Roman, a TFP bagpiper, that he played the bagpipes too and believed Kevin was a disgrace standing up for the unborn while playing bagpipes.
Still, while much evil and sin was in that infested city, there was still virtue.
One young woman told a caravanner that there was a pro-life contingent on the campus and that the issue is a 50-50 at the university.
One gentleman told the caravanners, “You have more support in Austin than you think,” which was very encouraging.
One young woman, a student at the university, passed several times giving encouragement. At one point she told some of the caravanners that she was becoming a Catholic soon, and was very nervous since she lives at a liberal campus in a liberal city. She said we gave her encouragement by standing up for the unborn on the streets. She continued to chat and was extremely grateful for the campaign.
One gentleman told the caravanners, “You have more support in Austin than you think.”
Towards the end of the campaign, we experienced just how far those who hate innocent unborn life are willing to go.
A furious liberal deliberately cut off traffic and swerved at TFP member Cesar Franco, before moving back into the lane at the last second. His intention was to intimidate, since actually hitting someone defending innocent unborn life would be a huge mistake for the pro-abortion movement.
Through it all, Mr. Franco just stared down the man, never moving his feet nor his gaze.
In the end, the campaign in Austin definitely had many lasting effects, both good and bad.
Prayers Needed and Welcomed
Please, all who read this, continue to pray for the caravan, especially one specific event. On the 26th of July, in Austin, Texas, there will be a satanic horror taking place at the Crow Bar in Austin, TX. They claim it to be a “religious study,” but rather it is a horrendous blasphemy. The caravan will head there from Alabama to defend Our Lord and His Blessed Mother. Please also pray for the benefactors who make it possible for these men to go on the streets and fight for the unborn!
