Catholics Prayerfully Protest Texas Library Association Conference Featuring Drag Queen

Outside the conference building, with rosaries in hand, Catholics held banners and signs defending the innocence of children.

Over 40 deeply concerned Catholics gathered outside the Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 25, 2022, to prayerfully protest the Texas Library Association’s annual conference that featured a “Drag Queen Story Time.”

The Texas Library Association is the largest state library association in the U.S., and librarians from all over the state attend the conference. On the evening of the first day of the conference, an “After Hours” session featured a man, Justin Johnson, pretending to be a woman named Alyssa Edwards, performed a “story hour” for the participants.

What’s worse is that this presentation was aimed at teaching librarians how to put on “Drag Queen Story Time” at their local libraries.

Outside the conference building, with rosaries in hand, Catholics held banners and signs defending the innocence of children. They were invoking the Blessed Virgin Mother’s intercession in the face of the moral decay and vice being promoted.

A number of librarians attending were hostile to the prayerful protest. A few waved the middle finger at those praying. Some, in favor of sexualizing little children into an “alternative” lifestyle, would minimize the danger or “gaslight” the concern of parents with a sophism, “Oh, but there’s no children there! What are you worried about?” One woman who walked out of the conference center just started eerily hissing when Catholics were praying to Saint Michael the Archangel.

The attitude of those local Catholics attending was full of sorrow.

However, not all librarians were in agreement with the “Drag Queen Story Time” being part of the State Convention. The attitude of those local Catholics attending was full of sorrow for the horrors and scandal being perpetrated inside and joy in uniting together with fellow concerned parents.

Now more than ever, vigilance is critical. Parents must keep watch to see if their local library plans to corrupt children with “Drag Queen Story Time.”

As Our Lord warned, “woe to that man by whom the scandal cometh.” (Matt; 18:7)
