Time to Stop Transgender Tyranny at the University of Louisiana

When a Twenty-year-old was invited to speak on campus, some activists at the University of Louisiana—Lafayette, hoped to shut her down.

On November 8, Tradition, Family, Property (TFP) —Louisiana received an email asking for help and quickly mobilized to allow her to speak.

“Gender Affirming Care” is Harmful

The speaker was Chloe Cole, a young lady who regretted her transition to be the opposite sex. On November 20, she spoke on campus about how transgender “medical” care caused permanent damage to her body that has changed her life forever. Due to “gender affirming care,” she will never be able to bear a child.

Unfortunately, pro-transgender students organized a protest against Chloe Cole’s talk on November 11. They did not care to hear the other side speak. They said that people like Chloe should not be allowed to come, since they are full of hatred and bigotry.

Transgender Protesters Alienate the Crowd

A volunteer with TFP – Louisiana, tried to interview the pro-transgender students, but they largely rejected the offer. One centrist student nearby remarked, “It looks bad for them to not communicate with the other students.”

After twice trying to force the TFP volunteer off campus, the group had to move since they were occupying another’s reserved territory. While they were relocating, a young lady nearby candidly stated, “Those people aren’t right. Transgenderism is against the Ten Commandments!”

Indeed, most of the curious students watching the protest either had no idea what it was about or were against canceling Chloe Cole. On social media, the protesters said when it comes to this issue, they will not play nice.

TFP Campaign for Natural Law

In response to the protest, TFP – Louisiana held a campaign, just outside one of the campus’s main entrances. The rally was quickly joined by a number of students who held signs and a banner which read, “God Created Them Male & Female.” Unlike the pro-LGBT protest, volunteers and friends of the TFP held an open and courteous campaign.

The TFP members and friends handed out hundreds of fliers titled Ten Reasons why Transgenderism is the Family’s Worst Enemy. Their signs read, Biology is not Bigotry and Honk Against Gender Ideology. Many in cars honked in support.

A young man helping the campaign stated, “As far as I can tell, around 80% of the students we met during our two hours here, are favorable to us.” Several students told the volunteers that they subscribed to the TFP Student Action YouTube channel and follow the TFP on various platforms.

Louis, a student at UL, told the volunteers, “Thank you for being here! You are the only ones coming out here on this issue.” One young lady continued, “Thank you so much! Those on campus really need to hear this.”

Society Needs the Family

While handing out their fliers, TFP volunteers showed students that transgender ideology warps the idea of man and woman, thus obscuring the roles of mother and father. Without the stability of a mother and father in the home, the most basic building block of society crumbles. Family is what makes a society strong, but transgenderism attacks this at its ideological core.

This lack of stability leads to broken homes and fatherless children who grow up without guidance and find themselves in terrible situations. God created males and females for a reason and the consequences of breaking that structure is reflected in shattered communities throughout our country.

Pro-Transgender Backlash

However, such arguments did not move the hard-hearted pro-transgender activists. Several confronted the volunteers with obscene words and gestures. Indeed, pro-transgender activists label opponents as haters, when the only ones cursing and screaming during the TFP campaign, were those on the pro-LGBT side.

One such cursing individual stated, “I believe that everyone should live the way that they believe they  should live!” To this, Anthony, a TFP volunteer, replied, “Should a murderer believe that he should live as a murderer?” The angry student shot back with a qualifier, “Yeah! But they should be locked up.”

So, by transgender logic, even murderers must be affirmed in their decisions albeit held accountable for their actions. A truly caring person would stop the murderer before he committed the crime rather than affirm him in his decision. However, transgenderism twists the idea of compassion by telling people what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear. Just as the alcoholic should be helped out of his alcoholism, the compassionate person should help the transgender out of confusion.

Men can Identify as Cows According to Pro-Transgender

Another relativistic man stated that each person has the right to identify with whatever he wants. A TFP volunteer asked if a man could identify as a cow. To the volunteer’s astonishment the relativist replied, “Yeah! If a person wants to dress up and have surgeries to look like a cow, I don’t see anything wrong with that.”

He even continued saying that Catholic hospitals do not have the religious freedom to deny “gender affirming care” that is contrary to Church teaching.  This state of mind proves the tyranny and lack of tolerance of the transgender movement.

If you Love God, Keep His Commandments

Later on, a man in a shiny Tesla, screaming curses at the volunteers, made a U-turn to confront them.  Thomas was holding the TFP standard when this screaming individual yelled out of his car window, “God loves me!” Thomas simply replied, “Do you love God?” The man stammered in the affirmative to which Thomas continued, “Then keep His Commandments.” He was so shaken that he drove off in a rage.

Pray for a Return to Order in America

Much could be written about the different interactions with the largely pro-family public, but suffice it to say that two hours in the sun was worth it. Many students were alerted to the conflict on campus, most of whom had no previous knowledge of the Chloe Cole talk or the LGBT protest. The public showed their support with honks and friendly waves. Several students even joined TFP – Louisiana in campaigning against transgender tyranny at UL. They spread the message: Pray for a return to order in America and defend God’s law.
