TFP Launches Caravan in the South to Defend the Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments are now at the center of a raging debate in American society. Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry recently signed a bill that calls for displaying these God-given rules in every public school building and classroom in the state.

Tradition, Family, Property – Louisiana (TFPLA) is kicking off its Southern caravan of street campaigns to support the law throughout the second half of July. This Ten Commandments tour will be covering a large swath of southern territory, from Alabama to New Mexico, promoting the bill throughout the states. America needs the Ten Commandments now more than ever.

The Two Standards: God vs. Satan

Saint Ignatius of Loyola states in his Spiritual Exercises that all people must choose between two battle standards. They must either serve under the battle standard of God, or that of Satan.

The TFP activists will be warning the public that there is no middle ground. The Ten Commandments define a way of living that challenges everyone to take a side. One is either for or against them.

Spiritual Preparations

Before beginning the battle, the TFP volunteers spiritually prepared themselves by visiting the Shrines of Blessed Seelos and Our Lady of Prompt Succor. The Ten Commandments Southern tour was placed under the protection of the Mother of God. After praying a final rosary and lighting a votive candle, the caravan set off.

54 Years since Miraculous Tears of Fatima

The first stop was New Orleans, Louisiana. The caravan symbolically began 54 years after the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima first wept miraculous tears in the very same city on July 17, 1972.

Braving the summer heat and notorious Louisiana humidity, TFP volunteers boldly campaigned at a busy intersection in Metairie with a banner proclaiming, “The Ten Commandments Matter!” with an image of Moses holding the stone tablets. Immediately the honks resounded! Big smiles and enthusiastic waves set the tone for the TFP caravan.

While a massive show of support came flooding in, there were also those who expressed hatred for the moral foundation of all law that has guided humanity for thousands of years.

Obscene gestures, screams of disgust and even a few abominable cries of “Hail Satan” were the reactions of those who opposed the campaign.

One man rolled down his car window and said, “We shouldn’t have the Ten Commandments in school! How do you explain adultery to a child?”

TFP Volunteer Anthony Atilano replied, “You don’t have to explain that specific sin to the children, but what’s wrong with explaining ‘Thou shalt not kill’ or ‘Thou shalt not steal’ to them?”

The signs that engaged and encouraged the public to take a side read, “Honk for the Ten Commandments, Honk Against Atheism, Honk: Defend God’s Law, and Keep America’s Honor True.”

God’s Law Protects Society from Chaos and Anarchy

“Chaos and desolation! Rotten fruits of a Godless nation!” proclaimed TFP Volunteer Alvaro Zapata while the rest of the young men replied, “Keep America Strong! Defend the Ten Commandments!”

This chaos and desolation describes so many aspects of America where these laws of God are ignored. The American TFP is fighting for the public display and reverence of the Ten Commandments so that the nation will not sink into the depths of depravity. Only then will society function in true peace and harmony.
