We were more numerous than expected on Saturday! It’s true that many more Catholics should have been at the Superdome Rosary of Reparation. But with the short notice given of Fr. James Martin being the Loyola commencement speaker, plus the busy schedules we all contend with, some wondered if any Catholics would show up. By the grace of God, we showed up and to the greater glory of God.
Most graduates we spoke with were unaware of who Fr. James Martin was or what he stood for. The number of thumbs up and other displays of agreement were much more numerous than those that disagreed. Of course this was not the perception held by Fr. James Martin whose tweet about the Rosary of Reparation was basically name-calling. Not much intellectual merit there.
I’m attaching a group photo as your memento. Not all of us are in the picture, as it was taken well after the planned end of the Rosary of Reparation. However, this might have been an historic moment, because when was the last time the Rosary was prayed publicly in front of the Superdome?
St. Joan of Arc, pray for us!
St. Louis Crusader King of France, pray for us!
St. Ignatius of Loyola and all the saints of the Society of Jesus, pray for us!
