Fighting for the Family in Fort Worth: Pro-Life, Pro-Marriage Rallies

The show of support for true marriage is overwhelming in Texas and the South in general. Since the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, the American public has been opposing abortion. Every year, hundreds of thousands march for life all over the nation. Now, we are witnessing a similar attitude towards Obergefell vs. Hodges on the streets of Texas. People from all walks of life are indignant over the Supreme Court’s disdain for natural marriage and will not abandon the truth.

That’s why the TFP street campaigns receive so much support.

Women Betrayed Rally: “We need to change the culture.”

As part of the tour in Texas, TFP Student Action participated in the pro-life rally, Women Betrayed, held in front of Planned Parenthood in Ft. Worth today. The rally called for the immediate defunding of Planned Parenthood and was well attended by local pro-life leaders and activists.

A recent string of undercover videos revealed the dark details of how Planned Parenthood sells aborted baby parts. These shocking videos have spurred more people to stand against the sin of abortion and, as one speaker at the event noted, not only “defund and close Planned Parenthood, but change the entire culture.”

In front of Planned Parenthood’s facility stood two pro-abortion men. One of them had a tattoo on his arm that read: “Neither God, nor master.” He also wore a rainbow bracelet and mentioned how he had participated in pro-homosexual parade. The other fellow was a self-proclaimed disciple of Nietzsche. It was interesting to see how these two issues go hand in hand — abortion and sodomy.

TFP volunteers took turns debating with them. People formed a circle to listen. In the middle of one of these debates, a 14-year-old girl stepped forward and confronted the Nietzsche fan. “When my mother was expecting me, she was taken to the clinic three times for an abortion. If I had been aborted, I wouldn’t be standing here talking to you,” the young lady said in a pleading voice. Her mother, who was standing beside her, nodded to confirm the veracity of girl’s statement.

“Don’t you think it was a good thing that she wasn’t aborted?” a TFP volunteer asked the pro-abortion Nietzsche fan.

He refused to agree and continued defending Planned Parenthood.

“You get sore from smiling”

In the afternoon, the campaign in defense of true marriage lasted about two hours. Not a minute passed without passersby honking horns and showing support. In fact, so much support was shown that, in the words of a young TFP volunteer from Louisiana, “after a while, you get sore from smiling so much.”

Only a few opposed the peaceful street campaign for marriage.

One woman was leaning out her window cursing at the TFP volunteers when she rear-ended the car in front of her.

After the two drivers involved with the fender bender met to exchange information, the lady that was rear ended asked us for our contact information, as she wanted witnesses to the accident. She was shocked to hear the real reason why the woman was ‘distracted,’ and thanked us for being out on the street. “I agree with you,” she said. “God bless you for doing this.”

Defending the Unborn Amidst a Crisis of Faith

Not long after, a man wearing a baseball cap approached some TFP members: “Do you have a permit to be here?” he demanded.
A TFP volunteer responded, “Yes we do, it’s called the first amendment.”
The pro-same-sex “marriage” advocate with the baseball cap was obviously unhappy with this answer. He continued, “I’m a history teacher and I know everything about the first amendment! You need a permit to be out here, so show it to me!”
“Why?” was the reply. “Are you a police officer? A public official?”
“You want a police officer?” the man retorted, “I’ll give you a police officer!”
He proceeded to call the police and invented a story of “inhumane” protesters who were running into the road, obstructing traffic — which was 100% false.
The police arrived, but turned off their sirens as soon as they saw the campaign. Without even getting out of their vehicle, they rolled down a window and asked, “Are you obstructing traffic?”
“No.”
“Alright,” the officer said, “you’re fine” and drove away.
The man with the baseball cap slunk out of sight.

God bless America and protect our great nation from the pro-homosexual dictatorship.
